Among Authors

After writing, producing, recording, mixing, and mastering their debut full length album in their basement by themselves, Among Authors are on an upwards trajectory. Having performed a KEXP In-Studio session live on the radio, and most recently booking their own national tour with a stop in Washington DC to perform an official NPR Tiny Desk concert.

The Among Authors NPR Tiny Desk Concert is now on YouTube.

Their debut album ‘I AM BECOME’ has received critical acclaim from NPR, KEXP and a host of other radio stations and press.

• NPR’s own Bob Boilen said: “I was stunned by the rock band Among Authors and its original take on music that’s akin to Radiohead and explosive art rock.“

• KEXP wrote: “If you haven’t heard the name Among Authors yet, you’re about to hear it a lot. The Seattle-based band are on a hot streak after the release of their debut album, I Am Become, last year. Thanks, in part, to Kevin Cole’s support of the band but, mostly, from the incredible music they make. Their take on atmospheric art-rock is something few are doing at the moment and they are doing it very very well.”

Wolfchild

Seattle’s WOLFCHILD is a collective of musicians creating a sound that blends the worlds of lyrical dreamy-folk music with the dramatic cinematic swells of Pink Floyd-esque alt-rock. Frontman Gabriel Wolfchild spent his early years cutting his teeth as an acoustic singer-songwriter and became known for his tenderly poetic and at times tragic style that allows listeners to open up, dive deep, and explore the full extent of their own emotional passageways. His songwriting is met with ethereal 4 piece vocal harmonies, soaring horn bellows, gravity-defying guitar, and potent percussion and bass lines to create an immersive sound that blurs the line between rock show and performance art.

In 2017 the band independently released their EP debut, Mornings Like These, produced and recorded by Eric Lilavois (Saint Motel, Atlas Genius) at the famed London Bridge Studio.

Recently back at the studio, they have prepared a full length record set to release early 2019. The new album is a testament to the current state of the world and the turbulent time we as human beings are all being forced to reckon with.

Dirty Dirty

After three years of regional tours supporting two EPs, the loudest rhythm section in Seattle began work on a full length album feeling they had discovered a channel for heavy, noisy fuzz rock that complimented the lyrical and vocal energy of their song writing, as well as moving towards a less formal sense of the art. The hard hitting, seductive, and raw elements within their music have been inspired by classic and modern Glam, Indie, Stoner, Metal and Punk predecessors like The Stooges, Kyuss, Le Butcherettes, Melvins, Metz, Soundgarden, making every hit a rebuttal to the subtle oppression of passive aggression and ghost culture in a growing tech city.

Kelsey Sprague

Seattle is a city famous for its rain. There’s nothing like stepping outside to a foggy morning in the Northwest and being able to see your breath dissolve into the air. And nothing captures that feeling better than a good song. Kelsey Sprague, with only her voice and an acoustic guitar, manages to convey everything beautiful and simultaneously desperate about the constant mist, relieved by the occasional spike of sunshine. With influences ranging from classics like Patsy Cline and Connie Francis to more contemporary names such as Josh Ritter, Jenny Lewis, and Camera Obscura, Kelsey manages to take familiar sounds and make them her own. With a sound that captures both vulnerability and independence, it expresses a world weariness and a wide eyed wonder that will make you feel like you’re stepping outside, watching your own breath disappear.

Monitor

Monitor is a Seattle band comprised primarily of Dave Raskin, Connor Smith and Pete Fitton. After years of writing and performing songs as a primarily acoustic singer-songwriter, Raskin was approached by former bandmate Connor Smith to start a project that would focus heavily on the use of sound design, multi-instrumental arrangement and rich production to elevate and complement their unique songwriting. Connor picked up his life and moved to Seattle where the two began working full-time on what would become Monitor’s debut LP, ‘Memorand.’ After recording the album in Brooklyn, NY with producer/engineer Kyle Joseph and percussionist Rami Sticky, the duo returned to Seattle with the album in hand. The final piece of the puzzle lay in bringing the album to life, and for that Raskin and Smith reached out to songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and composer Pete Fitton who provided his 10+ years of experience touring and arranging to help craft a live experience that is as rich and compelling as the studio original. The band plans to tour in promotion of ‘Memorand’ in Summer 2018.

Sandi Fernandez & The Beacon Hill-Billies

Sandi Fernandez is a singer songwriter currently based in Seattle, WA. Her powerful raw voice and catchy melodies deliver toe tapping grooves to her audiences. Influenced by folk music of the 60s, 90s alternative music, and modern indie music; her style is reminiscent of artists such as The Decemberists, The Lumineers, and Neutral Milk Hotel.

She draws upon the deep connection with her family to write music that reflects the love and challenges that come from these formative relationships. Her music explores the pain of loss, the beauty of love, and the importance of home. She wraps it all up into a melody driven belting style of Americana music.
